for the love of paper

Hi! I am Lauren, the creator of Penny Paperie. Penny Paperie is my custom designed invitation business based in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. I am a stay at home mom raising two adorably nutty kids.

My designing days started long before Penny Paperie was ever created. Growing up, I would spend countless hours working on creating projects - mostly poster board projects back then (yikes that statement definitely shows my age). I was so obsessed with creating and designing anything and everything, that I did most of my little sisters projects too. In college, I was an Education and Dance Major and eventually got my Teaching License to become a Public School Teacher. I loved teaching, don’t get me wrong, but honestly my real passion while teaching was always the paper things. I obsessed over creating and printing worksheets and other paper things for my students. As nerdy as it sounds, I loved being in the workroom designing things, making copies, using the gigantic school paper cutter and best of all, the laminator (if you know you know).

After I got engaged (to my husband who also happens to be adorably nutty), I started creating things for our own wedding such as invitations, programs, menus and such. I LIVED for creating all the paper details for our wedding. I had so much fun that I started offering to help my friends with different prints for their weddings. I started taking on different family friend’s projects and Penny Paperie just sort of blossomed from there.

I love working with someone to create exactly what they have in mind for their special events. It is so incredibly rewarding to have a client that is happy with what I design for them. I can’t wait to help create unique paperie for the momentous occasions in your life too!
